Mission Statement

The Storrington Lawn Tennis founded in 1938, maintains strong traditions in a beautiful Sussex setting, within this environment it aims to provide facilities and organisation for the playing of tennis for members of all backgrounds and at all levels, from mini tennis and juniors, through to adults and seniors.


The Storrington Lawn Tennis Club is run by a volunteer Tennis Committee and is fully affiliated to the LTA. It supports two full time coaches under the direction of the tennis committee.


Storrington Lawn Tennis Club aims to provide and maintain a high standard of court surfaces which includes macadam and all weather carpet with flood lights on seven of the eight courts, plus a mini court.

The Playing of Tennis

Provision of mini tennis:

  • To provide structured programmes for mini tennis to introduce young people to the sport of tennis in a fun, healthy and safe environment.
  • To encourage individuals to develop within the sport of tennis.
  • To provide opportunities for competition in a fun and enjoyable way.

Provision of junior tennis:

  • To provide structured programmes for juniors who wish to develop their ability in tennis.
  • To provide opportunities for juniors to participate both in organised competition in teams and individually, internally and externally.

Provision of adult tennis:

  • To provide structured coaching programmes for those members who wish to improve their standard of tennis.
  • To provide opportunities for members to receive individual and group coaching.
  • To provide opportunities for competitive tennis for teams and individuals both internally and externally.
  • To provide for organised social games of tennis at set times for members who do not wish to organise their own games.
  • To provide court availability for members who wish to arrange their own games.
